We brought in Moon’s Turkish Bowl for smokers who love a traditional, open draw with modern finishing. Handmade in Russia and holding roughly 13–18 g, it spreads heat evenly under foil for flavour-forward sessions. Colours are assorted — we’ll send a random colour, and each glaze is unique.

How to dial it in

• Use heavy-duty foil pulled tight; punch a dense, even pattern across the face.
• Start with 2 × 26 mm coconut cubes on the rim; add a third if outdoors or heat fades.
• Pack level and airy for blonde-leaf; slightly denser for dark-leaf. Leave 1–2 mm clearance under the foil.
• Most HMDs won’t seat ideally on this rim — foil gives the best consistency.

Craft & performance

Compared with phunnel bowls, the Turkish style gives a freer draw and snappier heat response. The dense clay warms evenly, keeping clouds steady and flavour clean when coals are managed on the rim.

Care & upkeep

• Let the bowl cool before rinsing; wash with warm water and a soft brush.
• Fine glaze crazing and slight colour “bleed” over time are material-related and normal.
