How do you pack a phunnel bowl?

Fluff the shisha between your fingers to break up any clumps, then sprinkle it into the bowl around the central spire. Don't pack it down - phunnel bowls need airflow around the shisha, so keep it light and loose. Leave about 2–3mm between the top of the shisha and where your foil will sit so nothing touches. The single hole makes blocking the airflow almost impossible.

Does a phunnel bowl work with foil and an HMD?

Both. With foil, stretch a tight sheet over the rim and poke holes around the edge - avoid poking directly over the central spire. With an HMD like a Kaloud Lotus, it sits over the bowl and the spire doesn't interfere. Most phunnel packers pair them with an HMD now because the heat control is easier to get right on a phunnel shape.

What tobacco works best in a phunnel?

Juicy and wet tobaccos - dark leaf blends like Darkside or Tangiers, and anything where the molasses is heavy enough to drip through a traditional bowl's holes.
