Fit and Compatibility

The Lotus I+ fits most standard phunnel and semi-phunnel bowls with a flat inner rim of approximately 7.5 cm diameter. It works with bowls from Cosmo, Oblako, and other major brands. For a larger charcoal capacity (up to 4 cubes), consider the Kaloud Lotus I+3.

How to Use It

• Pack your shisha bowl to just below the rim — slightly lower than you would for foil.
• Place the Kaloud Lotus I+ directly on top of the bowl. No foil needed.
• Add 2 fully lit natural coconut charcoal cubes (26 mm) inside the Lotus.
• Close the lid fully for the first 3–5 minutes to build heat.
• Once smoke is flowing, open the lid vents partially to regulate temperature.
• Adjust the lid position throughout the session — more open for less heat, more closed for more heat.

Quick Fixes

• Harsh or burnt taste: Open the vents wider or remove one charcoal cube temporarily. The bowl may be overpacked — try packing slightly lower.
• Thin smoke: Close the vents more or add a third coal if your first two are running low.
• Lotus sticking to bowl: Let it cool for a moment, then twist gently to break the seal. Avoid pulling straight up.

Care and Maintenance

• Allow the Lotus to cool completely before handling — the aluminium retains heat.
• Soak in warm water with mild dish soap for 10–15 minutes to loosen residue.
• Use a soft brush or cloth to clean — avoid abrasive scrubbers that can damage the finish.
• Dry thoroughly before storing.
• Never preheat the Lotus I+ Aluminium without a bowl — this can damage the device.

How many coals does it hold?

The Lotus I+ holds up to 2 large (26 mm) natural coconut charcoal cubes with the lid on. For sessions requiring more heat, consider the Lotus I+3 which holds up to 4 cubes.

Will it fit my bowl?

It fits most phunnel and semi-phunnel bowls with a flat inner rim around 7.5 cm. Slight variations still work thanks to the base lip design. Traditional Egyptian clay bowls are generally not compatible.
